The Artist

Alvaro Soto is a Colombian artist residing in Austin. Exploring color, texture, and perspective, his work evokes the latent energy in stillness and mines the ordinary to uncover ephemeral but charged moments of anticipation and pleasure. Each artwork invites viewers to reflect on and appreciate the richness of daily experiences, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary.

He earned his MFA from Parsons and has taught design and technology at several prominent universities, including Parsons, New York City College of Design, School of Visual Arts, and Texas State University. His work frequents the intersection of art and technology. Alvaro has exhibited his work at the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery and the Flatiron Gallery, both in New York. His work has also been featured in notable publications such as Wired, Designboom, and Cultured Magazine.
